Tim Johnson grew up on a hog farm in Lamberton, MN., before making his way up north. He attended school at MSUM and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. While he was there he participated in wrestling, earning 2 trips to the national tournament with the Dragons. He was in the Minnesota army guard for 10 years, and went on one deployment during that time. After his wrestling career was over he gave MMA a try and has been competing since 2010.
Tim Johnson fought locally around Fargo, ND for many years until he signed with the UFC, where he fought for 3 years compiling a record of 4-3 and was ranked as high as 12th in the world. He has since left the UFC and is currently fighting under Bellator MMA where he most recently upset the undefeated Tyrell Fortune by way of knockout during Bellator 239.
