My name is Tyler Barnes. I’m 28 years old and I’ve been a competitive Olympic weightlifter for about 3 years. I’ve been training at Metroflex since September and I love it here! Ever since switching over to Metroflex, it really feels like home. I came to Metroflex because they offered an environment that no other gym in town did. I’ve been married for 2 years and my wife, Kaitlyn, is also a competitive Olympic weightlifter.

My best competition lifts are a 175kg/386lbs clean and jerk and a 128kg/282lbs snatch. My current goal for weightlifting is to qualify for nationals; I am 11kg/24lbs away from qualifying, which will put me in the top 35 in the nation. By the end of 2020, my goal is to be in the top 20.
